William C O'Neal

William C. “Bill O’Neal, passed away March 1, 2023. He was born May 18, 1927, in Hot Spring County, Arkansas to William Leroy O’Neal and Nancy Louisa Crowder O’Neal.

Bill grew up with a family of seven sisters and four brothers. He served in the Army at the end of World War II and served in occupational duty in South Korea. After his Army duty, Bill attended the University of Arkansas and in June of 1950, he graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.

He began his career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, SCS in January of 1951, and worked four years as a Soil Scientist. He served as a District Conservationist in three different areas of the state from 1954 to 1974.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Louise, seven sisters & two brothers. He is survived by his two brothers Jerry O’Neal (Linda), and Wilbur Sylvester O’Neal and numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11 AM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow at 12 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.atkinsonfuneralhome.net
