August 26, 1943 - July 19, 2021

Wanda Faye Baxter, age 77 of Malvern, died Monday, July 19, 2021, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born on August 26, 1943, in Little Rock to the late Rachel Pauline and Emery Clyde Brown, Sr. Wanda was retired from Reynolds Metals and the widow of the late Jimmy Dale Baxter, to whom she was married in 1974. He preceded her in death in 1995. Wanda was member of Rockport United Methodist Church. She loved her church family and Brother Troy deeply.

Many people know how she loved to be outside and heard how she found such joy by working in her flower beds, bird watching, hunting and fishing. Friends and family members are left to cherish the memories of her love, which she gave freely. If Wanda loved you, there was never any doubt because she showed you in big and small ways.

A true friend indeed, if you were in her home, it was because you were wanted and welcomed there. She could be bold and blunt, but people always knew where they stood with her. Wanda was not one to hold to formalities, she had sass to spare, and could make you laugh until your sides hurt. She was a prankster and if you were ever on the receiving of one of her pranks, you know that they were genius!

Wanda leaves behind four daughters: Donna Bartow and her husband George of Malvern, Marcy Williams of Bryant, Frankie Wolfe and her husband Bill of Malvern, Shannon Finley and her husband Dennis of Poyen; one son, Daniel Baxter of Hot Springs; Eleven grandchildren who were blessed to call her Granny: Samantha, Terry, Candice, Courtney, Amber, Cheyenne, Jenna, Hunter (B), Caroline (M), William (N)and RoseLee (P); Seventeen great-grandchildren whom Granny loved dearly; one brother, Clarence Jimmy Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. These that have felt her love, now deeply feel the loss and are left to cherish her memories forever.

Wanda was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Beck, and brother, Emery Clyde Brown, Jr.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be a public visitation or service. After a very private goodbye, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home per her wishes. The love and prayers sent for this family are so appreciated. In lieu of flowers, “In Memoriam for Wanda Baxter” may be sent to Hospice Home Care-Little Rock Inpatient Center Volunteer Program 2200 S. Bowman Rd, Little Rock, AR 72211
