Vernon Ramsey

Vernon Lloyd Ramsey 75, of Malvern, passed away January 29, 2021 surrounded by the caring staff of Chi St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. A memorial will be scheduled, at a later date due to current travel restrictions.
Vernon was born September 18, 1945, in Dallas, Texas a son of Gilbert Ramsey and Cora Mae Cooper Ramsey. He joined the Army at a young age and spent his service time in Germany. He was a craftsman. He could build anything your heart desired. His passion was Crappy Fishing and Hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Cora; Brothers: Billy, Buddy, Herman, and Everette Ramsey; brothers-in-law: Elmer Tipping, Ralph Buie, and Bud Booth.
He is survived by his children: Gilbert Ramsey and wife Tammy of Homer, MI; Corina Thurner and husband Klaus of Abtswind, Germany; Shannon Watkins and husband Leslee of Blossom, TX; Brandy Ramsey Fendley and partner Belinda of Northway, AK; Rodney Ramsey; Michael Ramsey and wife Miranda; Laura Ramsey all of Williamsburg, Ky. Grandchildren: Tarrah Gander (Jay) of Wisconsin; Richie Lawver of Germany; Shelby and Madison Watkins; Taylor Fendley (Marissa), Miranda Fendley of Texas; Macie, Colt, Cailyn, and Cade of Ky. And several great-grandchildren. Siblings: Bernice Booth of Alleene; Max Ramsey (Karon) of Texarkana, Jacquetta Ramsey of Malvern, Therman Ramsey of Arkadelphia, Letha Tipping of Texas, Carol Buie of Malvern, Reba Ramsey of Texas, Joyce Ankrum (Scott) of Malvern. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends.
We want to say a special thank you to his sister Carol Buie, his nephew and niece Kenny Ramsey and Dorothy Ramsey Griffin for all they’ve done, the wonderful praying staff of Chi St. Vincent Hospital for giving our dad comfort and peace during his last days. With a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Osborn and 4W/ICU nurses (Melissa, Regina, Maddison, Paula, Whitney, and Crystal), and to Atkinson’s Funeral Home for their compassion in our time of need.
