Bob Selph
Robert E. "Bob" Selph, 89, passed away on February 21, 2023, at
Encore Healthcare and Rehabilition in Malvern. He was born on
February 14, 1934, in Donaldson, Arkansas, to Robert E. Selph Sr. and
Minnie Selph.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys Hodges Selph, and
a sister, Maxine Thomas. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy
Mattingly (David); his son, Jerry Selph (Kathy); six grandchildren,
Lance Mattingly, Aaron Mattingly (Meredith), Sara Gardner (Jonathan),
Andy Selph (Julie), Todd Selph (Angel), Mark Selph (Beth); nine
great-grandchildren, Corbin Etris, Cameron Mattingly, Caden Mattingly, Ethan
Mattingly, Makayla Gardner, Caroline Gardner, Rachel Kate Newton, Luke Selph,
Julia Selph; and numerous extended family and friends.
Bob was a member of Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church. He
graduated from Quachita High School in 1952 and went to work at
Malvern Brick and Tile. After several years there he hired on as a
laborer and worked up to a millwright at Union Carbide Corporation where he
was employed until he retired. He then had more time for hunting and fishing,
two of his favorite pastimes.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, at 2:00 at Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and burial following at
Ouachita Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Lance Mattingly, Aaron Mattingly, David Mattingly, Andy Selph,
Todd Selph, and Mark Selph.
Honorary Pallbearers are Sara Gardner, Jonathan Gardner, Julie Selph, Angel Selph,
Beth Selph, and Meredith Mattingly.
