Melba Loria Morris, a beloved icon in her community, was born on August 20, 1930, and left us peacefully on February 9, 2025, in Malvern, Arkansas. Melba lived a life that radiated kindness and warmth, always making others feel at ease with her welcoming spirit and infectious sense of humor. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Melba was known for her admirable career as a highly awarded Avon Lady, where her dedication and passion earned her numerous honors. Her commitment to her work complemented her vibrant personality, which shone brightly in every interaction. Her ability to connect with others through her warmth made her not just a successful businesswoman but a cherished friend to many.
Melba’s heart was as vast as her accomplishments. She was a proud mother and grandmother whose kindness was evident in the way she raised her children: James Morris, Carole Rines (Thomas), and Debra McKinney. She found immense joy and pride in her grandchildren, Robert Rines, Melissa Banghart, Nathan Rines, James McKinney III, and Melody Brezic, as well as in her numerous great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she nurtured a unique bond with every one of them.
Her faith was an integral part of her life. Melba was incredibly faithful to her Church Family, and she would often share her love for music through her passion for singing in the choir. Her hobbies brought her joy and were a testament to her spirited personality, from hair appointments to community gatherings filled with laughter and friendship.
Melba treasured the connections she forged throughout her life, including a special friendship with Melissa Jones, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends who will carry her memory forever in their hearts.
Although she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Morris, her parents, Jack and Tina Cash, and her sister, Jean Morris, Melba’s spirit continues to shine brightly in all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she so freely gave.
Visitation will be held on February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Atkinson Funeral Home Inc, located at 126 E 2nd St, Malvern, Arkansas. Following visitation, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of Melba Lorea Morris.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in knowing that Melba lives on in our hearts and memories, her kindness and spirit forever etched in the fabric of our lives.
