Martha B Earnest

Ms. Earnest passed away from natural causes on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the age of 95.
Ms. Earnest was born in Prattsville, Arkansas, on February 5, 1927. She was raised in Prattsville with her six siblings. She married Loyd Earnest on March 1, 1944, becoming a military wife. They were married 15 years, when Loyd passed away from Cancer in 1959. They had 2 daughters.
After their children were grown, Ms. Earnest graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse at the Benton Services Center. She retired from the state of Arkansas, so that she could assist her sister with the care of their elderly mother. Ms. Earnest dedicated her life to caring for others.
She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church and loved listening to gospel music, es-pecially the Gaither’s. She had a knack for remembering everyone’s birthday. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She liked spending time playing cards and Bingo at the Senior Center and be-ing with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Mamaw.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Earnest; daughters Lavonne Keiser and Carolyn Brooks; parents Birdie and Hardin Buie, her 6 siblings, Esta Webb, James Buie, Robert Buie, Arrita Sadler, Johnnie Buie and Betty Sue Chamblee and a great, great grandson.

She is survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren,1 great, great, great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, Ar.
