Faye Lamonte Efird

EFIRD, FAYE LAMONTE, 91.

 Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend left this world on January 3, 2025 to dance with the angels in Heaven. 

She was born in Poyen, Arkansas on July 25, 1933. She met the love of her life, Melvin Efird, in high school in Magnet Cove and they married in Tempe Arizona. Lamonte enjoyed quilting (over 50 quilts completed), cooking, volunteering and was a long-time member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs. She was such a giving person, always doing for others. Lamonte volunteered at the Jackson House, cared for many family members whenever needed, helped out in the church kitchen, played in the bell choir and performed an abundance of other tasks. She loved to cook and even won the church chili cook off one year. In 2003 she was presented with the Presbyterian Woman, Honorary Life Membership award for her selfless volunteering of time and talents. She was a real person, completely without pretense and with a strong sense of love for her family. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband Mel Efird and grandsons Daniel Morgan, John Morgan and Grant Morgan. She is survived by her two daughters, Vicky Bailey (Mike) and Terri Morgan; five grandchildren - Christopher Bailey (Gianina), Matthew Bailey (Jessica), Jennifer Woodward (Nathan), Robert Morgan (Sarah), Thomas Morgan (Carly) and 10 great grandchildren. Her friends and family will miss her greatly. 

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12 from 2-4pm at Atkinson Funeral Home, 126 East 2nd St. Malvern, Arkansas. Service will be Monday, January 13 at 11:00am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3819 Central Ave, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
