Delmon Mitchell

Delmon Mitchell, 86, of Poyen passed away June 26, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Malvern Arkansas.
Delmon was born on November 14, 1934 in Malvern, son to the late Jesse and Viola Mitchell of Poyen, Arkansas. He graduated from Poyen High School and later married Virginia Mitchell who preceded him in death. His brother Donald Mitchell also preceded him in death. Delmon loved playing guitar and singing country music. He frequented many of the local senior center dances with his longtime companion of 29 years Thelma Durham. Quite often he was called to the stage to perform with the band.
Survivors include his two children, Debbie (CJ) Turner and David Mitchell (Julie Rasmuson); four grandchildren: Holly O'Neill, Jesse Mitchell, Sara Hamilton and Eddie Clenney; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 1st with burial at Poyen Cemetery at 10:00 am on July 2nd.
Flowers will be accepted at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel and memorials can be made to the family.
