Billy Joe McKennon, age 81 of Malvern, earned his wings, Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born September 29, 1940, in DeWitt Arkansas, a son of the late Thomas and Bessie Lee Hughes McKennon.
Bill served in the United States Army. In the early 1980’s he was a police officer with the Pine Bluff Police Department, later he was a cross country truck driver. After retiring, Bill serviced lawn mowers and small engines at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie Hughes and Thomas McKennon; two daughters, Leanna Pearl McKennon and Nina Frazier; ten brothers and sisters.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Nancy McKennon; sister, Faye McKennon of Springdale; daughters, Teresa Billings (Clif) of Rison, Pam Davis (Earron) of Pine Bluff; son, Jeff Frazier (Melanie) of Washington State; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Magnet Cove Missionary Baptist Church, 23960 Highway 51, Malvern, Arkansas, with Brother David Carol officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, prior to service time. Burial will follow in the Magnet Cove Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern.
