Arlie Gene Hodges

Arlie Gene Hodges of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the age of 96 years, in Arkadelphia Baptist Hospital. Born to Coy and Mitchel Pilcher Hodges June 25, 1928 in Antioch community, Arkansas.

Arlie married Bonnie Garrett June 17, 1947. They were married till her death April 30, 2013.

 His one living sister is Judy Birkhart of Benton, Arkansas.

 Arlie’s children are Nancy Hudson of Midway and Greg Hodges of Malvern. Grandsons Randy Hudson and wife Danna of Midway, Steven Hudson, currently residing in Indiana and Hayden Hodges of Bismarck. Great-grandchildren Alex Hudson and Jarrod Johnson of Little Rock, Jonathan Hudson and wife Mackenzie of Benton, Caleb Messinger of Hot Springs, Audra Hudson and fiancé Shane Holden of Magnet Cove, Savannah Hudson of Midway. Two great-great-grandchildren Jeremiah Hudson of Benton and Westyn Holden of Magnet Cove.

 Visitation will be at Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern from 10-11am Saturday, October 26, 2024. Graveside service afterwards at Friendship Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

 Arlie served 28 years in the Malvern Fire Department and owned a large equipment business. He built ponds, dug septic tanks, cleared land, and helped build houses. We will remember him always for being there to help when work needed to be done. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even the great-great-grandsons. His saying when seeing them was “Ain’t he a dandy!” We will miss you Daddy, Papaw Arlie and we are sure Taco Bell will too!
