Nita Morgan, age 49, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 of cancer, with family present.
Nita, born in Aimes, Iowa, was a devout Christian, baptist by faith. Throughout her struggles, she maintained a hopeful spirit and cheerful attitude. Defeating cancer previously, Nita had been fighting illness since 2019. She went through multiple surgeries, treatments, and other hardships. Despite this, Nita loved life and handled her setbacks with grace. She was an encourager who loves doing for others. Her final battle with cancer landed her in the hospital where she soon passed.
Nita Morgan was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Lynn and Avis Thomas, her paternal grandparents Lyle Mathews Sr and Margaret Lash, her father-in-law J.L. Morgan, and daughter Savannah.
Left behind are her parents Lyle and Lucille Mathews of Malvern, brother Steve Mathews, and sister Melissa Mathews. Within her immediate family, she left behind her husband John Morgan (49), of Malvern and three girls: Abby (23), Zoey (21), and Macy (18).
Also left behind are her in laws. Such as her mother-in-law Toni Wilson of Atlanta, Texas and two twin sister-in-laws Sherri Wagnon and Terri Price also of Texas.
She had numerous nieces and nephews such as Khaleel Ankton, Kevin Jones, Kylie Gordon, James and Kerri Wagnon, Morgan and James Price, and many more.
Nita loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, hiking, and gardening. She was a true example of patriotism loving the American Flag, just about anything red, white, and blue, and supported our troops. Some of her favorite things were tulips, turtles, dark chocolate, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Most importantly, Nita loved working with children where she famously made lots of friends, known as her chickens.
Nita made her three girls her entire world. She was an incredible mother who was involved in every aspect of their lives.
Nita was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, pastored by friends Jon and Teresa Horton, and located at 1585 Tanner Street in Malvern, Arkansas. Services will be held there on September 9, 2022 at twelve p.m.
The family requests that her services be a true celebration of life, as Nita would have wanted. If you knew Nita, or have memories with her, they ask you please attend. Any prayers would be appreciated at this time. Arrangements entrusted with Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern and online condolences can be made at www.atkinsonfuneralhome.net
