Leland Mckinney

It is with great sadness the family of Leland Keith McKinney announce his passing on December 15, 2021. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband to wife Donna McKinney of Malvern, Arkansas and loving father to Daughters Sara (Tommy) Bowles of Ione, California and Kassina (Nate) Pickering of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He also had the joy of being part of his step children's lives as well and left behind Ashley Reynolds and her three children Korbin, Halston and Arliss, Cody (Kristalin) Reynolds and their two children Theori and Valyn, Cass Allen and Paige Allen all of Malvern Arkansas. He was such a loving grandfather to Lauren Ramirez of Ione, California, Madison Gomes of Modesto, California and Nolan and Harper Pickering of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Keith even got the joy of becoming a Great Grand Pappy to Legacy of Ione, Californa and Sayler of Modesto, California.

Keith was a jubilent guy most days. He was a lover of a lot of things and sometimes the things would even be some weird trinket he'd found at a second hand store or yard sales (one of his favorite past times). If he liked it he had to have it, Keith was always singing or whistling some sort of tune, be it a song he heard on the radio or some silly tune he'd made up that day. He was a lover of all things music. Wherever Keith was, there was guaranteed to be music (often blaring) in the background.

Keith always had a love of quirky sayings and would have perfect timing of belting them out, making you smile and often laugh when you needed to. He was also fluent in pig latin and would crack us and himself up when Christmas or New Years rolled around and we'd always get a "Crerry Mistmas" or a "Yappy Hoo Near". Through the years many his family, friends, and co-workers still carry on with his amusing antics that stuck with us. "Wheeee-Doggie"! "Heavens to Mergatroyd" and "well I'll be horn-swaggled" were just a few of his favorites.

Keith is preceded in death by Father Avery McKinney of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Mother Mary and Step Father Frank Lake of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Sister Theresa Canada of Malvern, Arkansas, Brother Gary McKinney of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Nephew Kris Castro of Maui, Hawaii, and Alan Castro of San Francisco, California.

Before Keith's passing he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized. We know that he is in Heaven with Jesus. His mind and body are new and free. He knows no shame, pain or hardship. He only knows of the wonders we cannot even begin to imagine. Keith will be waiting for us all, ready to greet us with a smile and a "Wheeee Doggie" Memorial service on January 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel.
