Dorothy Caddy

A lovely lady with an ample figure and sassy spirit was granted her long-awaited access into the Kingdom of Heaven on April 6, 2020. Dorothy Caddy was 83 when she joined her husband Curtis Caddy, parents Ethel & Charles D. Tackett, daughter Georgie Ann Walker, grandson Robert Walker, sister Charlette Bobo, brothers Henry "Frog" Tackett & Charles "Buddy" Tackett Sr., along with many other beloved family and friends, but most importantly she was reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dorothy also left a legacy of a large family to mourn her absence as she was still the much beloved mother of Marty Dockery (Michele) and Johnny Frank (Sue), ever ready partner in adventure to sister Wanda Harrison, fellow photography enthusiast with brother Curtis Tackett (Catharine), grandmother and Mamaw extraordinaire to 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and she will be greatly missed! Dorothy was born in North Little Rock and eventually settled in Leola, Arkansas where she happily resided for many decades participating in many community activities and church both at Leola MBC and FBC in Sheridan, AR where she was a member. She was such an adventurous yet kind soul who was both generous and thoughtful of everyone around her and usually jolly with a wicked sense of humor. She was always ready to hop in any mode of transportation, happy just to see where the road led. As a young woman Dorothy was fortunate enough to travel extensively around America where she made many friends and memories, having visited many states, always taking pictures of the scenery and wildlife, especially the birds, along the way. Throughout this time her son Marty was a near constant and always adoring companion. Over the years their mutual respect, admiration and love have been a powerful example to many of the special relationship between a mother and son. Dorothy loved all of her grandchildren and cherished the special time they were able to spend together which was always a source of joy in her life! She was especially close with her granddaughter Katie Dockery, who grew up next door and spent countless hours accompanying Mamaw with a variety of activities throughout her life which were times deeply cherished by them both. Dorothy spent her last few years at Encore Nursing & Rehab in Malvern due to diabetes complications combined with a fierce stubborn streak and passionate love of sugar. She enjoyed the activities there, especially crafts and field trips but more than anything she looked forward to and relished the weekly adventures of Dot and Wanda every Saturday where she and her sister went for long drives on sunny days filled with laughter and unlimited possibilities. The last year, during the pandemic, when visits and outings ceased suddenly, the many thoughtful gifts and care packages filled with goodies that Wanda and devoted niece Anita Bobo would send her kept her spirits up when she couldn't get out herself. Even though her last year was a challenging one she lived it with the grace, strength, and courage she embodied throughout the rest of her life. Dorothy Caddy was such a special lady who had so much wisdom and was blessed to have amassed a variety of knowledge and experience during her long life, blessing her family with a wealth of memories that will be cherished forever. If you didn't know her, you really missed out on a
good one.
